2008 Best of Duluth Award  This is Fake!

We received this from a company that sends an email  stating you won an award in this case Best of Duluth the company calls itself on it's website US Local Business Association also known as US Commerce Association as of 2009.

I researched their website it was created in 2007, it did not have legitimate contact information such as being located in Washington DC. It looked fraudulent to me. The website does not have a phone number to contact them and they will not give a phone number if you continue to read below you will see why! I believe if they have in writing you want the plaque then you can't send it back. 

UPDATE: We just received our 2009 Best of Duluth award and they have now changed the website address. They are actually using 2 different websites to promote their scam one is a .org making it look like they are a non-profit.

Once you get to their web site they want you to buy a fake plaque. I did not go through the purchase so I do not know if it was safe.

I would like to know when you started this business and why is your website created only in the year of 2007.

If I do a search on your website for a company, it takes me to another website instead of yours, I click on some of your website links and they do not work.

I would be happy to respond to any questions you have in writing. In order to remain neutral and maintain the integrity of our selection process, I am required by association by-laws to document any conversations with businesses that are under consideration for recognition or have been selected as winners.

As an Award recipient, there is no requirement to join the USLBA. We simply ask each award recipient to pay for the cost of their plaque.
